Chapter 1035 - 1033: I Knew You Would Come
Teacher Hadi put on his reading glasses and looked at the book. The book in his hand was a travelogue written by an unknown Adventurer from the Yowein Continent. Unfortunately, it was not signed, and the rich Spirit Power aura hadn’t been able to advance the book to become a Spirit Book.
Teacher Hadi was engrossed and then picked up a pen to doodle on a notebook on the desk, seemingly sketching simple checks and crosses.
This travelogue was written with pure simplicity. The Adventurer seemed uninterested in discussing anything else, only describing what he saw and heard in the places he visited, free of emotions or disdain, purely descriptive. Some descriptions were straightforward, others vivid, making Teacher Hadi sometimes excited, sometimes drowsy.
Without his reading glasses, Teacher Hadi couldn’t read this Spirit Power-rich book either. Though the writing seemed straightforward, it contained too much information.
Teacher Hadi always wanted to figure out which elder authored this book, but even after searching for a long time, he couldn’t find any patterns or characteristics, leaving him completely bewildered.
By rights, he should have some research into Adventurers’ history. Generally, he knows a thing or two about famous Adventurers in this world. Otherwise, he wouldn’t dare accept Dean Hoffman’s invitation to lecture here; harming students is something he’d never do. Although there are very few students choosing the Adventurer profession in this academy—like mosquitoes’ legs, it’s still some flesh. Having a few students is better than none. Dean Hoffman’s plan for Artisans hasn’t even formed a class yet, which is quite sad. On reflection, the Adventurer class is actually rather good.
Moreover, among his Adventurer students is the Lord Governor’s son...
Of course, now he knows Young Master Hustace won’t attend his class anymore, but he still feels proud because this feeling is quite satisfying. At first, he never thought that the esteemed Lord Governor’s son would show interest in Adventurers... Later, after some observation, he realized the young master chose the Adventurer path because another young man chose to become an Adventurer.
And that young man is none other than Igor, whom he has always guided.
He now knows, of course, that Igor chose the Adventurer path not because of his guidance, but because Igor decided to pursue this profession himself. If someone is unwilling, no amount of coaxing would work, right?
After all, many in the academy want to guide Igor—Hunters, Fighters, Wizards—all think Igor has great talent...
Thinking of this, Teacher Hadi let it go, as it’s now a done deal, and he has nothing to ponder anymore. His most important task today is to read the book once more, hoping to discover anything different.
He has read this book many times, always finding much of interest. Of course, the intrigue doesn’t lie in the book’s descriptions but rather in what Teacher Hadi himself imagines.
This book reads like a colloquial description, detailing all the places the Adventurer visited, like flip-through paintings.
"The Gnome Wormhole in the Ghost Realm, I’ve been there. The Water Spiritual Seabay in the Vero Realm, I haven’t been there. I haven’t been to Moqhien Village beneath Bess Mountain in the Kayne Realm either, only the outskirts of Alfalfa Forest..." Teacher Hadi muttered to himself while marking checks and circles and crosses on paper, comparing with his own experiences.
He wrote down all the places mentioned in the book onto paper, many sheets, even noting which specific locations in certain villages.
As an Adventurer, he naturally has visited many places. So, for comparison, the places from the travelogue he visited he marked with checks, places he hasn’t been with crosses, and places he’s uncertain about, such as merely wandering the outskirts, he marked with circles.
After finishing this, he began categorizing them: places he visited he wrote on a sheet of white paper and put aside, places he hasn’t visited were copied out, and uncertain places set aside again...
It seemed like Teacher Hadi was quite idle.
"Hmm, that place is indeed as described. The summer sunshine is abundant, sometimes indeed feels like a furnace." The places matching his own experiences, Teacher Hadi naturally praised. Similarly, he would ponder over places differing from his experiences.
Although the book’s Spirit Power is rich, lacking an author name meant it remained in a closed state.
"What a pity, why not just sign it? If signed, it could advance to a Spirit Book, and many things could be further explained in detail, right?" Teacher Hadi stroked the book’s cover, his tone filled with regret.
Teacher Hadi felt he should find out who the author is to resolve many doubts.
Whether the author deliberately didn’t sign or carelessly forgot, now that it’s like this, he could only dig step by step to uncover the author...
The difficulty is great, but as an Adventurer, shouldn’t one pursue challenging paths? Besides, he’s old now, only able to undertake such leisurely explorations; traveling far and wide is impossible. Age comes with limitations...
From outside came hurried footsteps. Teacher Hadi took off his reading glasses. After reading the book for several days, it was time for some profound conversation with the visitor!
"Why stand there foolishly? Come in," Teacher Hadi said without looking up.
"I was afraid of disturbing your reading, teacher..."
"Hehe, you sometimes act like a monkey, all fidgety." Teacher Hadi chuckled.
"Uh..."
"Alright, Igor, come in. I knew you were coming."
Igor felt quite strange; why did Teacher Hadi know he was coming? Even the door was open...
"You find it strange, right?" Teacher Hadi seemed like a worm in Igor’s stomach, knowing what Igor was thinking.
"A little strange..."
"There’s no need to be so puzzled. Dean Hoffman told me. He’s a Scholar and can deduce things. Knowing you so well, could he not deduce you’d come to me?" Teacher Hadi directly revealed the reason to Igor.
"Uh..." Igor was at a loss for words, initially thinking Teacher Hadi was immensely talented. Now, that image was instantly shattered by Teacher Hadi himself.
"Come, sit here. It’ll be noon soon, and your stomach must be growling!"
As soon as Teacher Hadi finished speaking, Igor’s stomach started growling.
"Hehe, we old fellows know you well, Igor!"
