It’s Oscar night and I’m looking forward to it this year. I love Seth MacFarlane and it’ll be interesting to see how he is as a host. I’m crossing my fingers for at least one impression :)
I think this might be the year I’ve watched more of the nominated movies than ever before. I loved Silver Linings Playbook. I’m rooting for Jennifer Lawrence, and although I know he won’t get it I’m still crossing fingers for Robert De Niro.
I hate to say it, but I might change the channel if, or when, Anne Hathaway wins. I’ve loved her since The Princess Diaries and Ella Enchanted and adored her in The Dark Knight Rises, but she’s been unbearable this award season.
On the Best Picture side of things, as much as I loved Lincoln I’m still rooting for Argo. Ben Affleck created a brilliant bit of filmmaking that kept me on the edge of my seat. And yes, he was robbed.
If Daniel Day Lewis doesn’t win, I’ll lose all faith in humanity. I also heart Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones, but I know they won’t win. The three of them were outstanding in Lincoln and made me, just a teensy bit, wish I were American and had such a rich history. Which I then got over when I realized most States won’t let me get married O_O
What about you guys? Cheering for anyone in particular?
