Yep, the old writing update isn’t particularly enthralling, but my mind’s a blank tonight so that’s what you’re getting *g*

Just released:
Graceland, which came out from Samhain on July 3rd. I’m still excited about it, so y’all will have to pardon me if I continue to squee :D

From MLR Press, I have The Mountain, a contemporary about a glass artist and an agoraphobic millionaire. It’s in the hands of my lovely MLR editor Mama Kris right now and ought to be out in ebook and print in time for GayRomLit in October. So yay for that!

From Samhain — Demon Dog, first book in my new Mojo Mysteries series, is scheduled for release December 4th. It stars Adrian and Greg from Love, Like Ghosts, solving a brand new paranormal mystery with the help of the Bay City Paranormal Investigations gang. The BCPI folks won’t show up in the other books necessarily, but Greg and Adrian will continue to keep Chapel Hill safe from paranormal goings-on :D

I’m also writing an episode of the fabulous “gaytime drama” Boxer Falls. This is a good old fashioned soap opera, revved up, sexed up and gone wild on the virtual page. It is AWESOME. Some of the best gay romance writers out there have written and are scheduled to write episodes. I feel a little awed by the company I’m in! My episode is going live August 10th. Check out the website for all the details on Boxer Falls, how to catch up and how to make sure you don’t miss anything :)

In the works:
Right now I’m working on a futuristic sci-fi romance called Hell’s End. It’s an offshoot of my old short story, Into The Black, which is up as a free read on my website. I’ve always wanted to do more with that whole world, and now I am. My plan is to write a series set in that world. Hell’s End is roughed out in a synopsis, the first three chapters are written, and I have an idea for the second book in the series. After that I’m not sure, but it’ll come to me. The proposal for Hell’s End is off to my editor at Samhain and I’m crossing my fingers that she wants it :) After that one’s done, I’m planning to start book 2 in the Mojo Mysteries series. I have an idea for that one too, I just need to flesh it out and come up with a title.

So, that’s where I am right now in my writing life. This year is turning out to be much more productive for me than last year was. I’m vastly relieved by that. My day job kept my creativity and output down the last couple of years for a variety of reasons, and I’m so happy to have those things back now.

Glad with your day job status your output has increased… hoooray for us readers!!!

I know I said it before but well done on Graceland. It was a fun read but also encourages us to take a look at our own habits to see what we could change before its too late. And now well, I guess at some point I will have to go to Elvis lover’s mecca. Looking forward to the glass blower’s story…. the imagery there must have been fun to play with…

    Big Hugs, Z.

Thanks Z! Graceland was fun to write. I loved getting to know Owen and Kevin. I’ve never been to Graceland. It would be cool, huh?

I hope you like The Mountain too. It’s way more angsty. I think the story is pretty awesome. Though sadly, I did not work in a lot of glass blowing jokes. Oh well. You have to go where the muse takes you, right? I think it turned out well in the end :)
