Okay, so while my family and I were on vacation at the beach, the girl-child and I discovered an EVIL CULT that uses a starfish symbol to communicate.
Or, well, probably not. But we can be excused for thinking so. See, there is this wicker starfish in the condo we stay in. The arms are in a particular configuration, and one is bent sideways in a peculiar way. It’s pretty distinctive. Well, this year, when we were in a shop we frequent at a certain shopping center, my daughter and I noticed a black stone starfish pendant. This pendant was shaped the EXACT SAME WAY as the starfish in our condo. Same angle to the arms, same weird bend to the one arm. Weird, right?? So the girl-child says to me that the starfishes painted on the main bike path look the same way. I’d never noticed before. So on the ride back to the condo, I looked, and damned if she wasn’t right.
So, let’s examine the evidence, shall we? Three different starfish: Condo Starfish, Bike Path Starfish, and Necklace Starfish, all with the exact same shape, all located on the same island (especially striking with the condo starfish and the bike path starfish). Girl-Child and I decided this could NOT be a coincidence. So obviously, it must be an evil cult. What else could it be?
Here’s the thing. This is the plot-bunny-est plot bunny that ever hopped. It must be written. There’s nothing for it. But I want to write it NOW!
[/Veruca moment]
And of course I’d already kind of told myself I was going to work on the Big Beautiful (Diabetic) Cherokee book next. So what to do???
How, oh, how, do I get myself into these things? Sigh…

Okay, I’ve got it! Maybe the Big Beautiful (Diabetic) Cherokee has moved back to NC from Oklahoma and has discovered the unique starfish while awaiting the time he can finally move into his new home. With his discovery, he learns of the evil cult and finds a fascinating man that he decides he has to rescue from said cult! It could work, right?! Hee, hee! ;)
