life's lemons Yeah, so maybe I’m in a mood to be annoyed. Or maybe I’m just annoyed because I couldn’t think of anything better to blog about. Heh. In any case, boys and girls, here is a short list of a few things that annoyed the living crap out of me today.

1. Horrible drivers. Hey, guy in the Mercedes station wagon, I’m talkin’ to you. WTF’s your problem? Just because you want to be in my lane doesn’t mean all the cars vanish so you can move over. There’s this little thing called a “turn signal”. Learn to use it. Then, how about NOT acting like I’m crazy for honking at you to alert you to my presence when you swerve sideways out of the blue and nearly kill me? Asshole.

2. Cloudy, windy and chilly today. It’s a little thing, but dang, I’m sick of clouds. Blech.

3. Y’all know about the new reader-focused romance conference, right? RomCom? Well, I emailed to ask if there were any panels or events for readers of GLBT romance, and learned that indeed there are not. Sigh. Not surprising, I guess, but still. I don’t think there are any reader-focused romance conventions that really have anything for readers of GLBT romance, never mind anything geared toward us. Am I wrong? Do y’all know of anything? I know there’s YaoiCon but that’s different. It’s yaoi, which IMO is a separate entity from romance. It can include romance, but doesn’t have to. If that makes sense…

4. Blogland is annoying me today. For several days now, actually. There will be no details on this, because I just don’t want to get into it. But, yeah. There are some bloggers I would like to smack upside the head right now. Fact check before you rant, people.

5. We got an invitation to my husband’s mom’s cousin’s Christmas party next month. They do this every year. Fine, it’s always fun. Here’s the thing. We always do a gift exchange. This year, not only did they set a price limit (which is fine, they always do that), but they have this cute little theme: Best Black Friday Deal. Whatever. I don’t do Black Friday. No way. But get this: they want us to include THE RECEIPT! WTF?!? Is it just me, or is that incredibly tacky? Is it just me, or does that take out anything remotely resembling fun and make the whole thing way too damn serious? I don’t care what the invitation says, I am NOT shopping on Black Friday.

So those are my main annoyances today. And because I don’t want to be all alone in my grouchiness, y’all have to tell me what’s bugging YOU today, okay? So share!

Heh, I think I can guess the post of which you speak there in #4.

Well, y’know, you can shop online for Black Friday and include your receipt. Problem solved. No insanity, unless you go nuts clicking or something.

Hmm. What’s bugging me today… Well, since it’s about time for me to crawl into bed and I’ve had a beer and been reading and listening to music and am thus mellow… I guess it has to be the cat sleeping with its eyes open, who looks like he’s staring at me but isn’t because he’s asleep but dang, it sure does look like he’s staring at me… etc. ;)

Hmmm. Is true, about the online receipts. I’ll have to send the hubby online shopping, he’s got some kind of crazy nose for online deals :D

LOL @ your cat! That’s freaky!

I totally agree on everything you said about Black Friday. It’s horrible to try and shop that day, and (to me) not worth the aggravation to save a few bucks on plastic crap for my nephew. I’ll gladly pay the few extra bucks to shop online pay a more regular price when I don’t have to dodge insane shoppers who are frothing at the mouth for some hourly sale. People are insane, and not in a good way.

Online shopping rocks…it’s how I do most of my Christmas shopping anymore, and anything I can’t get that way, I just spend one day hitting the mall and Target (and whatever else), on a midweek day (not Friday or Saturday…shudder). Amazon is honoring all Black Friday specials the whole Thanksgiving week, so I got some discounts that way, but I don’t go out seeking discounts…and I’m a poor college student. :D

Yeah, the hubby’s been hitting the early Black Friday sales online. Getting some pretty good ones too, I believe :) Good thing, because there is NO WAY I’d haul myself out of bed in time to stand in line at 3 a.m. for some of these sales! The deals aren’t even that good this year.

Re: the turn signals….my sister and I have discussed this issue at length. We’ve decided that turn signals must be an *option* on the new vehicle that the buyers decides against. There just isn’t other good explanation!! VERY frustrating!

Gripes – #1 – working my a** off on a project at work simply to find out when done that they failed to pass on a vital piece of information, making most (not all, Thank God!) absolutely worthless.

#2 – old boyfriends who don’t seem to understand that I wasn’t joking when I said it was over.

#3 – loved Chris’ comment about his cat. Have 2 and get beyond tired of them thinking it’s cold and trying to pretend they’re ticks and have the need to crawl under my skin for the add’l warmth. Makes it difficult to move (but also gives me an excuse….can’t; I’ve got a cat on my lap right now!) :-)

    Happy Holidays everyone!
