I had a fabulous day today! I volunteered to march with Aids Calgary in the local pride parade and I spent an hour handing out condom packages :) Apparently Syphilis has made a comeback. Good to know. Anyway, I made a few new friends and got to watch my fellow volunteers freak out the construction workers who were working on a building along our parade route. Always fun.
In light of my fun day, I wanted to share a short little story about a very pretty man and his studly boyfriend. Some of you might remember these two…

Peter adjusted the top of his sequined dress, sliding his hands down his waist and smoothing the fabric across his hips. He was grasped from behind, a low growl warning him before a hot mouth latched onto his neck. Giggling, Peter stepped away, wiggling his hips as he turned to greet his admirer.
“You’re going to mess up my hair, Mitch!”
“Looks perfect to me.”
“Well, aren’t you just wonderful. Thanks, sweetie.”
The heat in Mitch’s eyes was nearly enough to make Peter want to head back to their car and ditch this thing all together. The only thing that stopped him was the reminder of how much he’d been looking forward to this. He hadn’t done a pride parade since last summer when he was still in Vancouver. The fact that he’d be spending this day with his burly new boyfriend was just icing on the cake.
Although…he was a little put out that he wouldn’t be walking with Mitch. His boyfriend was with ARGRA, the Alberta Rockies Gay Rodeo Association, the very Rodeo where he’d met Mitch for the first time. They had a really cool float and all the people walking alongside were duded up in their best cowboy finery. Peter sighed, staring up at Mitch in his black cowboy hat. The man had a matching black western shirt buttoned up over his collosal chest, jeans and boots finishing off the look. Peter was dying to take all that off, one article at a time. Right before he sunk to his knees and… Okay. Time to think about something else.
Peter was dressed about as opposite as one could get. He was marching with a few other drag queens, although he thought he looked the best. He’d dug a floorlength sequined silver dress from his closet and paired it with four inch heels and a tiny little tiara that perched in the coif he’d styled his wig into. Breast forms and enough makeup to sink a ship and he was feeling all feminine. Especially when Mitch looked at him like that. Heck, he might not be able to feel his feet after this but that was what his boyfriend was for. Mitch could just carry him back to their car…and wasn’t that just getting him all hot and bothered again.
He still got a kick that his cowboy liked fem boys. It was so totally not what he expected when they’d first met.
“Baby, what are you wearing under this?” Mitch ran a hand down Peter’s ass.
“You make it through the parade and the fair after and I’ll be glad to show you.” Hell, he would demand that Mitch see it, since he’d had to custom order the damn silver corset and matching panties. It almost hadn’t arrived in time.
“Shit, baby, I have to walk. Don’t get me all excited and unable to do anything about it.”
“I’ll make it up to you.” He smirked, running his fingers down Mitch’s chest.
Mitch moved them to the side, making way for one of the other groups to pass. What a group, too. A bunch of cuties wearing nothing but camo patterned briefs and sandals.
One of the men turned to stare at them, walking backwards. “Mmm, girlfriend, you are just gorgeous. I want me some of that.”
Mitch’s chest vibrated with his growl. Peter smoothed his hand over his boyfriend, trying to hold in his laughter. “Stop it, you know I’m yours.”
“Damn right. I’m going to prove it to you this afternoon as soon as this damn parade is over.”
“I can’t wait.” He angled his head, meeting Mitch’s lips as the big man leaned down. They clung to eachother, ignoring the clapping and catcalls around them. Peter blinked open his eyes, following Mitch when the man pulled away. They met a second time, conveying their every feeling without words, their tongues dueling, breath mingling.
A bubble of happiness filled his chest, making Peter want to jump for joy. All those months ago, when he’d first come to Calgary, he’d never expected to meet someone like Mitch.
He couldn’t wait to see what happened next.

Thanks! It was my first year and I had a blast.
We used to have Pride in June but they decided to move it. I was initially worried about the Sept. date but the weather was nice and there were a lot of friendly faces.
