I spent the last two days at a local conference called Con-Version. It’s all about science fiction and fantasy and I just couldn’t resist going. I hung out with one of my very good friends, Vivi Anna, and we had lunch with Tanya Huff, which I’m still glowing about. Tanya is an author who always has gay, lesbian and bisexual characters in her books, and I’ve long admired her work. It was great sitting down with her, as you can probably imagine :) Here’s a pic of the two of us!

But, the weekend hit a high note when Vivi and I were walking through the dealer and art room. As we passed tables with unbelievable anime artwork, piles of books, costumes, masks, chainmaille and more Star Trek merchandise than I’ve ever seen…I saw him. I fell in love. I had to take him home with me.

His name is Colonel Attar and if any of you have watched Planet of the Apes, you’ll know he is the powerful captain of the Ape army and a force to be reckoned with (he was played by Michael Clarke Duncan and I am in love with that man’s voice). Unfortunately for me, Attar took one look at my human men and decided to reorganize a few things.

Notice how Ken seems to be the only one that’s happy with this arrangement? Think it has anything to do with that big club Attar is holding? Colt, Tom and a few of the others were out grocery shopping for me, so Attar hasn’t come up against my dominant men yet. I wonder what will happen when he does…

I’m so jealous. I LOVE Tanya Huff’s work. I fell totally in love with Tony and it led me towards gay heroes. Sounds like fun time and hope the boys adapt to their new “lifestyle”.

She was so cool, Tam, I kid you not. I was glad Vivi was with me because I threatened to go fangirl once or twice. LOL! I loved Tony, but I think it was the Summoning series that really cemented Tanya as one of my go-to authors. I’ll have to see what I can do with Attar and his band of humans now :)
