Updates, WIPs, Ice Cream, Twinks by Willa Okati

Just got home from a day’s worth of running errands around town on the bus, or as I like to call it “the squeaky tin cans of death”. Bizarrely enough, it IS possible to have to go uphill both ways. (Laws of physics? We don’t need no steenkin’ fizzics.) Someone remind me why I thought it’d be a splendid idea to go car-free?

Okay, now that the grumbling is out of the way, updates:

“Wild Hunt” — completed, turned in to my editor. Again, trying something a little new with this one. It’s the story of a Celtic fusion musician who finds himself drawn into a fairly scary world that’s intermingled with our own. Lucky for him, the connection he has to the Wild Hunt is blond and feisty and has excellent assets. Robbie was one of my favorite kinds of characters to write: the puppy’s got teeth, and he bites as well as barks. The musician, Delaney, is a match for him though.

“Tomcat Jones” — coming out this month from Loose Id (feline shapeshifter, sort of a romantic comedy though not *quite* as manic as A-Muse-Ing).

Starting a new story now, not contracted yet but hella fun, focused on the young, hung talent at an online-only adult film studio. So far I think I’m calling the made-up online site itself “twentysomethingtwinks.com”. My brain needs some good lighthearted fun after Wild Hunt, which was intense.

And on that note, I’m going to have ice cream for dinner. Sweet cream with Lehua honey. Mmmmmmmm.
