I’m snitching this idea from someone else, but he was talking about a blog he saw so I feel it’s fair game.
Anyway, the question was, what candy bar are you?
Now, I can only go by the ones I’ve tried but I would like to think of myself as See’s milk chocolate Bordeaux. Is my favorite, all rich buttercream and brown sugar surrounded by the best milk chocolate ever. Yum! Whether ’tis true or not, I don’t really know. Nor care. After all, it’s how YOU see you that counts, right?
So how about it? What candy (we’ll open it up beyond bars, shall we?) are you?
On another note, for the past week the family has been playing with my gift to the household, which is a Keurig coffee brewer. Now, I myself do not drink the nasty drink. In my own opinion, I find coffee to be like drinking warm, wet dirt. I’ve come to appreciate the smell, probably just by the warm fuzzy association to warmth and good feelings as felt in coffee houses (which I love) but I cannot do the taste. Blech! I am a tea drinker, however, and do enjoy a cup of cocoa on occasion, so wonderful news is that the brewer does both of those. The deal with the brewer is that it only brews one cup at a time. You buy these little packet things, pop it in, fill it up with water and set it to go. In about 2-3 min, you’ve got a hot cup of something. Now, the SO has recently been making 1 or 2 trips to 7-Eleven DAILY to purchase his dark caffine fix. I will be honest and say that this was my main motivation for buying the damn thing. 1) he was spending way too much, 2) the coffee, from what I’ve heard, isn’t that good, and 3) I was beginning to loathe 7-Eleven parking lots, many of which I’d waited in while said man went inside to get his fix. And it wasn’t just straight coffee that he got. He made this strange concoction that fascinated anyone who actually looked to see what he was putting in the cup. So, I bought this and got him all sorts of varieties of coffee for him to try. His dad is also a coffee drinker so they’re both in hog heaven. Me and his daughter? We’re enjoying the tea (mmmm, 2 different types of chai so far). Tomorrow, we’re going to Coffee Bean to get some of that sweet vanilla powder that they put in drinks. Yum!
My other thing to report is that I bought a Bowflex TreadClimber. I know. Expensive. I could have gotten any number of machines that cost less. But I didn’t. I bought this one for a few reasons. First, I like the tread thing. I hate stair climbers and regular treadmills. This one looks different enough that it might be intriguing. For awhile anyway. Second, I’m choosing to believe the 30-minutes, 3 days a week thing. I should point out that I’m not looking for weight loss here. It would be nice, of course, but I’m looking for the cardio. I need some movement in my very sedentary life. Third (and perhaps most important), I figure if I spend that much money, then that’s motivation to USE the damn thing. Not a good reason, I know, and one that may backfire on me, but it’s too late now. The boxes have arrived. We set it up today. Gulp!
OK, I’m done. Off to write my Between Celebrations ficlet

What candy bar am I? It depends, Jet, sometimes I am a peppermint Patty or Milky way dark chocolate and mint, and sometimes I am a Heath bar–then sometimes I am just plain Canada mints. That’s the one I am the most often. The chocolate mood doesn’t hit as often as it used to, certain books and and authors bring out the dark in me…you’re one of them.
Coffee, ahhh, I love coffee, scent and taste. Sometimes I like it just dark, no cream or sugar, when we’re out on our motorcycle I add cream or milk so I can drink it sooner, but I never add sugar *shudder* like my husband does (we often joke that he likes a little coffee with his creamer and sugar, lol).
Exercise–I hate it. I’m old enough now to know I need to do it, but I still hate it and really have a hard time forcing myself to do it. I love to walk, roller skate (or blade) and ride a bike, but making myself get out and do it is entirely a different matter. My husband tried the buying expensive equipment to motivate us and he even got one huge machine for free, but it didn’t work very well and it sat unused until we moved…had no way to move that humongous thing and no place to put it…so it stayed there.
Have fun!

Aero bar. Kind of bubbly and fun on the inside but hidden by a boring responsible layer of plain milk chocolate on the outside holding it all together. Sigh. Not very exotic. I started drinking coffee about 4 months ago. I’ve gone decades without touching the stuff but now I drink it at work in the morning. But I don’t like it strong, weak and luke warm which grosses people out. And black. No fancy latte, cappuccino stuff for me. Enjoy your workouts. I joined gym figuring if I spent the money I’d go. Not so great lately but I’m blaming it on winter storms and Christmas prep. (Riiiiiight)

What candy bar or candy am I? Candy I would have to say a Zot (gawd, do they even make those anymore?) It was a hard candy with fizzy stuff in the middle — quite the surprise! Or I could be Pop-Rocks — explosive when mixed with another element!
A candy bar? Hmmmmm…. perhaps the Three Musketters mint flavored…who could be bored with three guys in tights that tastes of dark chocolate and mint?

I want a keurig those are sweeeeettttt. For the price of a bowflex I could download every ebook I want and have lots let over. I do dance dance revolution for my exercise and I can garuntee you it works. I must confess the idea of comparing yourself to something you eat seems a bit silly, but in the mood of things I’ll do it anyway. I think I’m like dove chocolate decadent, smooth and luscious. I know you said you dont like coffee Jet, but its not dirt its delicious addictive dirt of the gods.

We have a senseo, similar concept to the Keurig. Both Mr Maura and I drink coffee (which I never did until I moved to Seattle) but I’m one of the people who likes some coffee with their sugar and cream (or eggnog).
hmmmm what candy am I? I think M&M’s — there’s a bright-colored, fancy hard shell on the outside but once it’s cracked, the inside is a rather mundane milk chocolate that melts easily.
