As I said a while ago, I’m participating in national novel writing month or NANOWRIMO. It started yesterday and will continue until November 30 at which time there will be much rejoicing over my newly completed novel.

I hope. *g*

I’ve participated in NANO before but never won, never met my own goal let alone the NANO-recommended goal of 50k in a month. But this year is going to be different. In fact, I’ve already written 4,000 words on my NANO wip, an m/m fantasy story about an assassin and the prince he is sworn to protect with his life.

I know 4k is nothing to some writers, but that’s amazing output for me in less than 48 hours.

My goal, which I may have said before is not only to produce a heck of a lot of words during this month, but to really stretch myself as a writer both in terms of word count and the type of story I’m writing. You see I’ve never written fantasy before. All the world-building is a little scary but so far so good.

I will be reporting back each week to let you know how it’s going. So until next time …

As early as the seventh grade, Kimberly remembers slashing her favorite rockstars and reading romance. So it’s not surprising that her two passions, romance and putting pretty boys with other pretty boys, should come together in her writing. Moliere said, “Writing is like prostitution. First you do it for love, then for a few close friends, then for money.” Kimberly is delighted to finally be doing it for money.
