Well, kind of. See, the novel I’m working on now — Adder, tentatively scheduled for release from Samhain in the summer — stars a singer/multi-instrumentalist and his band. This fictional band will be playing at a music festival I invented. I’ve been to several different music festivals. However, not being a musician or press or anything, I have only ever attended as part of the great unwashed (often literally, especially at Bonnaroo) hordes in the audience. So I have NO IDEA what the whole “artist area” behind the stages looks like, or how it works.

This is where you guys come in. Has anyone been in the backstage area of a music festival? What’s it like? Do they have free food and drinks and stuff? Real bathrooms instead of nasty Port-O-Lets? Little trailers for the bands to hang out in? Do the more famous artists rate more special treatment than others? And perhaps the most important question of all: are there any spaces suitable for semi-public mansex?

On a related side note, if anyone knows where I might find out more about transcendental meditation, please share…

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!! I shall send you dancing nekkid manwhores of the imagination :D

Go for the outdoor stage attached to a building which has several large rooms, long racks for the costumes, long makeup bar with mirrors, three stall bathroom, gated entrance at back of building with guards and a small office somewhere with emergency phones. We had light snacks and drinks, ( I used to be a dancer) Never been on an outdoor stage, but we have musical concerts at the ball stadium and Starlight Theatre, both have change areas. They can have sex in the dim hallway or the private office.
