Truncated blog post this week. I’m writing this from San Francisco (ok, San Mateo but that’s close enough) at Yaoicon.

Arrived Tuesday, just me and the SO. We did this because we don’t get out of town much and both of us needed some “off” time. It was nice.

On Wednesday, Ally Blue, Jade Buchanan & Kimberly Gardner arrived. ‘Twas late in the day, though, so we just had a drink then went to bed.

Thursday, JL Langley and Laura Baumbach arrived. I slept in (I do that unless it’s absolutely necessary not to) then the group of us headed to The Castro and A Different Light bookstore for JL’s booksigning (see Luisa’s post for more details). There’s a fairly embarrassing story about 6 women not from SF getting stuck in The Castro unable to get back to their hotel, but it ended up okay. We found a wonderful cab driver who took pity on us and got us back.

Friday I again slept in (see above) and the others will have to tell you stories about their day in the city. I spent the day with the SO, including our own short stint in Fisherman’s Wharf at Eat At Joe’s (steamed crab, yum!!). Then we met James Buchanan and hubby to set up the MLR group vendor table, after which we went to have some Greek food in San Mateo.

Saturday has not yet begun but will be filled with yaoi adventures, I’m sure. I’ll be spending tim at our vendor table and in amongst the colorful attendees of the convention. Will be wearing my Heaven Sent tour t-shirt and seeing if anyone recognizes it. I can’t wait!

Many years ago - like 15… I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. My sister and I were taking my step mother around the area… the Castro district to be exact. We got lost… too.

The “chaotic” air must be still circulating after all these years, causing disorientation.

My sister’s husband rescued us at about 3am.

Hope your conference is going well. *S*

The convention was fun. Quite colorful. The others saw more of SF than I did. I’m sure someone will post about the Folsom St fair.

Yep, there’s a t-shirt. It was SOO cool to see a few people wearing them too! Check my website :)
