The last couple weeks have played havoc with the WIP. Between traveling to various cons and sneaking in words whenever possible, I was left exhausted. When I caught up on my sleep, I decided to get a couple books to help me unwind.
And by unwind, I mean a book that kinda reminds me of of my own stuff.
It’s a weird habit, but whenever I’m deep into a WIP, I can’t see/read any movies/books that don’t relate to the story. This makes for some hilarious trips to Borders.
me: do you have any werewolf/mage stories? It can be romance, fantasy, horror, mystery.
the clerk: no western?
me: well, if you can find one. (thinks about the plot bunnies it would likely create) Never mind; just contemporaries.
the clerk: (keys things into his computer) I’m presuming no vampires.
me: correct. (remembers that we’ll be doing Labors of Love at the end of the month) Actually, I wouldn’t mind a vampire.
