Last weekend, I sent in the ms for Dark Elves V: Discovery. This one should be interesting. I got both good and bad comments about book four about the fact that it was about a wider scope of things. I think most of the fans of the series were intrigued to find out more and to see the elves start through a time of change. Others weren’t so enamored I guess. Well, can’t please everyone all the time, right? Those who thought DE4 was too much are probably going to have a similar or worse opinion about DE5.

See, in DE5 we leave the forest. (cue the “ooooooohhhhhh”s)

The main hero of DE5 is Kinig. A human. A man. He starts the book as a young bard who petitions Savous to spend some quality time with the elves so he can write ballads and spread the word about them. Savous, being a forward-minded rhaeja, lets him stay but gives him a “sponsor” among the elves, for his own good. That turns out to Fallil, the acknowledged best entertainer among the elves. He’s been mentioned in the other books.

When he leaves the elves, Kinig takes nine years (or “cycles” in the series) to spread the word, including visiting the southern continent. It’s there that he meets two more rather interesting characters. Elves! A man with white skin and a woman with red skin.

Obviously, there’s more to the story, but as you can see there’s quite a bit of territory to cover. Hopefully I did it in an entertaining way :) The sexual action is divided between m/f and m/m, with maybe just a bit more of the former. Also, there’s a rather large… occurrence that I hope fans of the series will welcome :D

This one KICKED MY ASS in writing it, but a lot of that was details. Wanted to make sure I was faithful to the series. I think I have been. I hope I have been. My test readers say I’ve done ok. I guess we’ll find out in September **chews nails**

Don’t have a cover yet. Will post it when it’s approved.

On a completely unrelated note, did ya’ll see the fireworks display in Beijing last night at the Olympics opening ceremony? Oh man! That was truly awesome!
