Well I did it finally. I freaked out, big time. Can we say nervous breakdown? Yeah, well I actually thought I was going to be able to avoid it, I’d done so good up until now, but no. I suspect it’s because of the week I’ve had. I have had the week from hell. I must have done something horrible to someone… Wish I knew who, so I can say I’m sorry.
First, my father, who is the most wonderful man in the world, had a stroke. Yes, he’s okay. It was more of a wake up call for him to take his diabetes and blood pressure meds. His only real problem is that he lost some sight in his left eye and his depth perception is way off. Inconvenient, yes, but he’s alive, no paralysis and he is still him…mentally.
Second, I get a call two days ago saying they think my MIL, who I’m also very close to, might have had a stroke. The left side of her face was showing signs of paralysis. Weeeeell luckily it wasn’t. She has Bells Palsy. Which is basically an infection that causes paralysis of the facial nerves. It will go away, but it could take months. So she can’t close her left eye now. But given the alternative? Yeah… She’s in good spirits, glad it’s not a stroke. She and my dad got a good laugh out of it. She started saying, “look what he started.” And He said he was glad it wasn’t a stroke, but if she insisted on going to the hospital he’d share his room with her, but her bed had to go on the right. grin.
Anyway, so I’m sitting around yesterday for the next shoe to drop, figuratively speaking. you know they say bad stuff happens in threes. I was so not looking forward to the third. But the third happened the night after my MIL’s trip to the ER. Andre’s right eyelid started swelling. He went to the doc and fortunately it is just an allergic reaction. Whew, glad it wasn’t worse.
I swear I’m not making this up. It’s crazy, isn’t it? The good news is that it has all turned out good.
Anyway, with all this going on. I finally lost it today and freaked out big time. Yelling screaming, bawling like a 2 year old. And panic, did I mention the panic? There was a major case of OMG I’m never going to get this done by the 30th. Which is when it’s due. But tonight I got all but 2.5 scenes done. I’m going to have to miss my nephew’s birthday party on Sunday, but it will be done by the 30th. Then I’m either going to sleep and entire day or read an entire day, I haven’t decided which, before starting the next one.
Next week, I’ll post ya’ll an excerpt in Simon’s pov. Until next time…

You got through the week. Sometimes it’s all a person can do. Being brilliant, you snuck in some words as well.
