At the end of this month I’ll be in LA attending the Lambda Awards dinner on May 29th (one of the books I publish through MLR Press, ARDENNIAN BOY by William Maltese and Wayne Gunn, is on the short list for best men’s erotica) and to help man the booth Manloveromance.com has at BEA –Book Expo America. It’s a super huge event for three days that brings in all the book buyers from the big chains, and librarians, and others in the publishing business.

So I’ve been packing and packaging things to send out to LA for the event. I was packing what I thought was the last box today to send off when I suddenly realized I’d been gathering and packing things for so many other authors that I had forgotten to get together any of my own promo! Well, duh!

It’s an expensive trip from NY to LA for 4 days. You had better believe I’m taking a few things to promote my work as an author! I have new releases out this year! I have a new series to promote! I need postcards, I need chap books printed, I need to get my act together!

So I’ve been spending the day printing, stapling, and folding chap books for MEXICAN HEAT–the entire first chapter. Hotter than hot. Makes A BIT OF ROUGH’s first chapter look coy. lol. I just took a break from searching for some kind of temporary sticky glue (to stick the custom MEXICAN HEAT coasters inside the chap books) to write my blog entry. Plus my shoulder hurts from all the stapling. Whine, whine, I know.

I just realized I forgot to pack the manloveromance chapstick, too! Good thing this is 2 weeks away yet. I’ll need every day to get organized. The post office is going to love me. Or the UPS man. I’m not sure which yet.
