Friday was my last full time day at the EDJ. I expected… more. OK, I didn’t expect fanfares and tearful cries of farewell but I expected… well something I didn’t get, not that I know what I was looking for. I don’t feel any different, really, despite the purple hair. it was pretty much business as usual at both the EDJ and at home. *sigh* I reached this great, pivotal moment in my life and… nothing.
Well, all right, maybe there are better moments. Getting that acceptance letter for DE1 was pretty damn awesome. Seeing the book up on the Loose Id site the first time was great. That first month or so when readers were so very cool to a first time author by reading the darn thing. Getting the first reviews. The second book coming out. These were all better moments, to be perfectly honest. And they should be, I think. They’re better accomplishments. Working part time is really just a means to an end, that end being more time to write.
So… onward and upward. Here’s to growing with my craft with more time to do it *raises glass for a toast*

Anything that gives you more time to write, is good in my way of seeing.
But then again, I’m selfish and just want more stories.

Jet,
I know what it’s like to leave a job and no one notices, so hugs on that. You deserve better, I’m sure.
OTOH, more time to write is a gift from the Universe. Enjoy!
