Full time writer, that is.

On Thursday, I talked to my boss at the EDJ and requested to go part time. Reason? I need more time for my writing. And you know what? It was TRUE! How cool is that?

I’m happy to say that he was extremely cool about it. Not that that’s surprising. He’s a great guy. One of the main reasons I still worked where I did. We’ll be hashing out the details of my abbreviated work week for the rest of April, then come May 1st, I’m only on 3 days a week!

It’s both exhilarating and scary. I have always been the responsible one and I am the one in the house hold who brings home the most income, so for me to cut back is a bit scary. But we did the math and it should all work *crosses fingers*

So, what have I got on the writing schedule:

  • Currently working on Mother Hen for the MLR Hot Comforts anthology
  • next I think is my Shifting Sands story, a m/m shifter story for an anthology I’m due to do with a few authors you may know :)
  • Dark Elves V
  • Dark Elves VI (finale)
  • Judgment (yaoi)
  • then, I think, comes a book that’s probably going to be called Squire, #1 in the Indigo Knights series

At least, that’s the current plan.

Leashed 3: The Lion’s Share comes out on Tuesday (April 8). One For The Team isn’t on the books yet that I’m aware of, but the manuscript has been turned into Loose Id.

Sheesh! I sure do need to go part time. I’ve got stuff to do!

    Jet,

This is a big step, but a positive one. Working part-time is great. You become more your own person and I found I no longer felt like the job “owned” me. Hope it works out for you big time.

    Thanks Lyndi!
I’m hoping to have a similar experience. There are parts of my job that I really don’t mind so much and some of it can actually be kind of fun/fascinating. But I’ve been doing so much drudge that the good parts have gotten overshadowed. Not to mention the stuff going on in RL. I’m hoping this move makes me more efficient and happy all around :)
