I had something similar happen to me in my little story. Saw a great picture/image. Began writing the scene straight from the picture then the scene got rougher and rougher. I wanted my character to be aggressive, but he is submitting to everyone who looks sideways at him.

I had decided logically what I wanted to transpire, but the road to these goals are becoming shocking to me. Or I should say that I feel like I am losing control over the storyline to my characters. I had stopped writing because I feel like I am cheating if I plan a scene. But I feel like I will not get the end of the story unless I write something for the characters to disagree on. I am flummoxed.

LOL - my story creation seems a lot like yours! Mine often happen on the way to work, stewing over an annoying co-worker and plotting his demise.
