Ways I have avoided working during the past few days:
- catching up on Harry/Draco slash stories. Not Snape! DRACO!!! Draco, I tells ya!
- shopping. Although to be fair to me, it DID need to be done *g*
- involving my unpopular opinions in controversial blog conversations. Karen Scott’s had some particularly… erm, engaging debates going on lately O_O
- trying to turn spam into story ideas as per a friend’s suggestion. I am having trouble with the one titled “Plane Spice Bank Onion Drum”, go figure.
- cleaning. Once you start getting into the corners in the kitchen, that’s a couple of hours right there.
- trying to turn the Savings Turnip (a turnip in whore makeup and heels, above the line “Savings Turnip All Over Our Store!” o_O) into a Happy Onion sequel. An exercise in futility, clearly, and therefore Procrasturbation at its best.
And since I know damn well y’all avoid the things you have to do just like I do *g*, I now invite you to share your own favorite procrasturbation techniques. Tell, tell!

I tend to plunk down in front of my computer, pull up an academic article for cover, and then rotate randomly through my e-book library. Most of the time I have music in the background and a game of Spider Solitaire active for variety.
Either that or I “clean,” an activity that mostly involves locating, reading, and re-shelving all the paperbacks scattered through the house. (This is not a task undertaken lightly. My book collection tends to migrate under its own power, and there always seems to be one hiding under the coffee table or in the kitchen cabinet. I generally don’t herd them together again until my roommates start making remarks about marshmallows and lighter fluid…)

Snape! Snape forever!
Now that I got that out of my system . . .
I try to avoid slash, but every once in a while I hear its siran’s song. Mostly I check out Wikipedia and do research. I may not be writing about the subject, but you never know when the info will come in handy ;)

I’ve recently discovered a new one. Under the guise of killing widows, I go through the novel, looking for words to cut so that I don’t end up with one sentence on one page at the end of the chapter. Work or avoidance?
And before I forget . . .
Snape!
