I missed my blog day last Frieday. It seems like I do that every other week, bad JL!
I’ve gotten back into a sort of groove lately. I’m working on the short story for the Ties that Bind anthology coming out from MLR press. So far so good. I’ve started out small, 1000 words a day. Which should put me at the end of Nov. deadline with no problem. I had a real hard time getting into writing again. Not sure if it was stress or what. I tried to work on two different stories for this anthology, first a vamp, the second a fractured fairy tale. For some unknown reason neither talked to me, then out of the blue this guy shows up waving his arms and saying, “write me, write me.” So, I did, and so far so good, I like him, he seems to like me and his hero is really cool.
And the best thing about him??? He’s got me in the mood to write again, for that alone he’s special. He’s also started making noise about a series, right now I’ve only agreed to one more about his hero’s brother, but we’ll see. His name is Evan and he’s a heeler (team roper). His hero is another Native American man. Not sure why but they are just coming out of the woodworks lately
