When I went to the workshop in September, I mailed my clothes to my friend’s house, so I wouldn’t have to check a bag. During the month I was there, I picked up a few more items, and when the time came to return home, I asked her to just mail my stuff back to me.
Yesterday, the box arrived.
Like a time capsule, the items brought back delightful memories. There were the Confederate and Union teddy bears I got in a giant teddy bear store outside of Gettysburg (in honor of the story I will one day write about two soldiers from opposing sides teaming up to fight an evil monster that devours the dying on the Wheatfield). There were the cookbooks I bought at my friend’s awesome Bookfest (including the post cards and pictures that I got a couple of the cook book authors to sign to one of the characters in HL).
There were also some clothes, a couple notebooks, and the novelization of the last Resident Evil movie (which, ironically, was way better than the movie).
After I’d gone through the box, I began putting the items away. The cooking books go out to the kitchen, and the RE novel joins the keep shelf. I’m not writing the bear story yet, so they get put on a shelf where they can look cute but not distract me. The signed post cards are part of the revision, though, so they get put on the desk.
Unpacking done, I disposed of the box and returned to the revision. I felt buzzed. One day the teddy bear story would be written. One day I’d write an awesome zombie story. In the meantime, the revision was getting done, and I had the beginning of a very goofy collection (one day, I’ll get more chefs to sign cards to that character ;).

So who did you have them sign it to? Sylvain or Ryan?

Sylvain.
I’m hoping to get some really goofy comments someday with the autographs (to Sylvain, thanks for helping me with that mole recipe. All the best, Emeril)
