I missed my blog day. I had plans to write after I put the youngest to bed but that went out the window. My nine year old received his new mini-bike last night. My husband owns a HD, the teenager runs his dirt bike and the youngest now has his own wheels. I figured between the three of them, one would hit the ER in no time.

That time came last night. 9 year old’s new mini-bike’s throttle stuck and he hit a tree. Helmet on but head wound with laceration to the skull, deep enough for inside and outside sutures, skull xrays, multiple irrigations to clean out the tree debrie and a half dozen steri-strips to close the pieces between sutures. But he’s good. Hardly a tear, was a champ in the ED. Tough guy. Black eye, hugely swollen forehead, abrasions on his chin, neck and tummy. Put a tooth through his bottom lip but tooth and lip are okay.

He asks if its okay if he has ‘acnaphobia’ about the bike for a few days. I said yeah, he could be phobic about it until he was comfortable getting back on the bike. The night was spent in the ER and I forgot all about blogging! Sorry!
