I got my Dragon*Con cherry popped this year, oh yes! Kiernan Kelly had asked me to sit on a panel of published authors, to which I said “heck yeah!”. The panel was great, loads of fun, with a wonderful and responsive audience. I got to meet sooooo many cool people at the Con, it was awesome! Smooches to Kelly, Leo, Henry, Liz, Amber, Jean, Sabrina, Kayelle, Kiernan, and the folks I talked to whose names I can’t remember now!
The Con was massive, overwhelming, and so much fun. If I tried to describe the whole thing in detail, we’d all be here all night, so here are selected favorite highlights of my long weekend getting my geek on:
* finding Uuuurgh! A Music War on DVD in the dealer’s room
* having a serious discussion about Frodo’s quest and not having people look at me weird
* the guys in the Spartan soldier outfits from 300. Yowza!
* Cthulhu’s Clues on Dragon*Con TV
* getting to pose my multitude of Totally Nerdy Questions to the Ghost Hunters
* speaking of Ghost Hunters, getting to see Steve’s new work-in-progress tattoo! On his ARM, you perverts!
* watching the parade from the third floor of the Hyatt with Kiernan and her family and Kayelle Allen :D
* the stunning man I talked to in line for the World’s Slowest Bartender at the Rainbow Flag party. Black vinyl catsuit, knee-high platform black boots, black corset, black pageboy wig, red lipstick, a lovely face and a wonderful silky voice. He told me I was NOT lame for not having a costume, and I fell madly in love!
* getting from the hotel to the interstate without getting snagged in ANY traffic at all. If you’ve ever driven in Atlanta, you know how very special this moment was for me.
Sadly, Ally and cameras do not mix well, so I have no pictures :-( But, one of my roomies took a shot of me with a totally adorable Harry Potter and a REALLY FREAKIN’ TALL Lucius Malfoy, so I’ll post that someplace as soon as I get it :D I am already planning next year’s trip…

OMG me too!!! I’m not sure “meet” them is the right term, but I did get to ask my totally nerdy questions, and Steve probably remembers the giant spider pin I was wearing on the last day *g*

You know you totally have to turn catsuitboy into a character in a story, right? Lol!
Sounds like you had a great time. And that spider pin is totally memorable.
