The other day, I was hunkered over the iBook cranking out the next chapter in the latest angst-fest, Untamed Heart, and I realized something. A disturbing number of my books contain at least one scene in a hospital, with at least one of the heroes ill or injured.
This isn’t something I think about. It just happens. Why? Am I sick? Is it sheer laziness, seeing as how I’ve worked in a hospital for almost twenty years and have seen an absolutely ridiculous number of traumas and illnesses? Or am I an evil angst-mistress who loves to hurt her boys? What do y’all think?
