*swoops in with huge cape, which is big enough to cover and hide any maligned or abused hero from the abusive eyes of his creator*
My lovely cps call me the Protector. If I had a few more brain cells today, I might be able to come up with a cool tag line, but it’s not coming.
Anyway, why do they call me this? Because I really hate to hurt my characters. I do. I mean, I do occassionally have to hurt my characters. I fully understand that there is no story without angst and woe. But damn if I have to like it! I invest a lot of time and energy into my characters and hurting them hurts me.
Now Ally is the queen of pain. The stuff she puts her characters through… *shudders*
Luisa’s along the same lines. I mean evil witches and demons as adversaries is a guarantee of pain, right?
Even JL, I thought she was with me, but now she’s gotten into this BDSM thing. OK, in the BDSM, the characters want it, but I KNOW she wants to hurt them!
I though Kimber was with me, but I wait until ya’ll see the pain, misunderstanding and sorrow she’s putting her adorable couple through!
*sigh* Poor things. They’re these lovely heros, paragons of maleness. Sweet ones, funny ones, all of them gorgeous in one way or another and they just put them through the ringer. There’s some blather about it making the ending sweeter, blah blah blah, something about having the trial to go through to get to the true happy ending, blah blah blah. Yeah, I know I ‘ve heard it all. I adhere to it even. But really!
So I’m the Protector. I know their characters need a safe haven, so I provide. My own characters, well, okay they need it too from time to time.
But, I will give us all this, my cps and I, we do give them some hot sex to go with the angst. Never fear on that point!

Ah yes, and the boys do appreciate Jet’s protective impulses. I mean, they need someone to run to when we, cruel creators that we are, take out the angst stick and wave it around.
But we still love our Jet. And don’t let her fool you. *whispers* She likes reading the angst just as much as we like writing it.

LOL, you are too much!
Does the protector need a superhero uniform, maybe? With the mouse as a whip to control the angsty authors?! xD

Ines! Now we’re talking with the whip idea :) ‘course, these angsty authors would probably LIKE it *rolls eyes*
As for Ally… I love her but there is no hope for her. She’s a chronic hero abuser *shakes head sadly*

You know, dear Protector, one of the most angsty things I ever saw was in one of your books.
Yes. That first dark elf book? I remember reading it and thinking, “oh shit. If that was me, I’d kill him and escape.”
You put characters through hell. You just give them lots of sex to make up for it ;)
