I’ve been thinking a lot about writing lately. Yes, yes, I can hear you all saying “d’uh”. What I’m specifically thinking about is the art and craft of writing. I’ve been in search of that mystical, magical “click” — the magical moment where you get your story, you know where it’s going, you know why, and how it’s going to get there.
Being slow on the uptake, I couldn’t figure out why this happened with some stories and didn’t with others.
The truth hit me like a plank of wood upside my face: to love my stories, I must love my characters — or at least know them to the level of innie or outie belly button (and whether or not it has fuzz). All the outlining in the world and the best, most brilliant ideas won’t come to life — for me — if I am not in love with the characters myself.
Sounds simple, right? Let’s hear it one more time: d’uh.
Which brings me to my catch phrase, a line I find myself muttering alarmingly often: “You really never do know what a day will bring forth.” Sometimes the light bulb goes on, and that’s what I call a good day.
So… I think that’s tapped out my well of meanderings. Let me ask you, the blog readers: what would you like to see when it’s my day to blog? Story snippets, sneak previews, excerpts, contests, story prompts, chatter about what I’m working on or just plain chatter? I live to please the audience. Comment away and let’s get the party started!
Side note: I’m working on a newsletter. Thank God for people who know how to format these things! I’ll keep ya’ll updated with details.
Hugs!

Possesses an abundance of crazy ideas, writes constantly, always tries new things, and drinks an insane amount of coffee. Meredith Brooks said it best: "I'm a bitch, I'm a mother, I'm a child, I'm a lover, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint -- I do not feel ashamed -- I'm your "F", I'm your dream, I'm nothing inbetween - you know you wouldn't want me any other way..." Manlove (and femmelove) is more than a passion -- it's a way of life.

Yes, trials and sorrow do make for a happier ending or maybe just relief that they made it through the hard stuff. Just not to much horrible stuff, then you start thinking they are not going to end up together or that someone may die; that’s when I get nervous. Love this series. Can’t wait for the next one.
